iZ Technology Now Shipping RADAR Studio Integrated DAW (Video) Integrates optimized hardware with popular DAW software in a native recording, mixing, and playback environment Apr. 06, 2015, by PSW Staff +Print Email Share RSS

New RADAR Studio integrated DAW from iZ Technology.

iZ Technology is now shipping RADAR studio, which integrates optimized hardware with popular DAW software in a native recording, mixing, and playback environment.

RADAR studio is an integrated audio appliance, ready to run Pro Tools out of the box, and shipping with Harrison Mixbus. Potential users can work directly with iZ Technology to tailor the unit to their specific needs and budget, with configurable I/O, drive bays, external media, DSP cards, and peripherals.

A key component behind RADAR’s sonic quality is the iZ Adrenaline DR recording engine, which houses iZ’s proprietary and time tested Trinity Chip with its frequency synthesized digital PLL to provide an near-zero jitter clock, low-latency audio routing, and real-time crossfades on all channels during punch in/out at all sample rates up to 192 kHz. The Adrenaline DR recording engine also frees up the host processor to provide better DAW/plug-in performance.

“The RADAR studio is free of unnecessary bloat ware and it runs beautifully with its high speed SSDs and massive RAM capacity,” says Dan Brace of Sonic Farm Recording Studio in Buffalo, NY, an early adopter of RADAR studio. “The converters are providing the same sweet sound we experienced with RADAR 6, but with the added editing power Pro Tools provides.”

RADAR studio is designed for simplicity, with the user needed to just arm tracks and press record. iZ Session Controller and Meter Bridge can be integrated for a traditional studio feel. It comes with 10 years of free customer support.

“And it goes without saying, iZ tech support is second to none, they made sure our system was everything it was promised to be,” Brace adds. “We have run it 12-14 hours at a time without a single error and I know I can count on this system day in and day out.”

RADAR studio pricing varies with configuration.

Big Band Recording with M 930

Big Band Recording with M 930

For the second rendezvous of Erfurt Nerly BIGBAND with U.S. jazz legend Sherry Williams, Sinatra trumpeter Jim Linahon and the award-winning pianist Markus Burger, the common path led directly to the acclaimed Erfurt Theater studio after playing three sold out concerts in summer 2012. Also present were 15 microphones of the type M930 and a number of other award winning Microtech Gefell microphones, guaranteeing the pristine sound of the Nerly Big Band. Sherry Williams    A Grande Dame of jazz, vocalist Sherry Williams units her voice and appearance being truly on of the last true Jazz Divas. After 50 years in the business her soulful and warm vocal timbre make each standard a unique one.

There have been numerous television appearances, (THE TONIGHT SHOW with Johnny Carson, THE GLEN CAMPBELL SHOW, THE TOM JONES SHOW, THE DELLA REESE SHOW, SOUL TRAIN and others), recording sessions (including albums with EL CHICANO and RED BONE) and more nightclub and concert tours.

She has also toured with Andy Gibb, and the legendary Johnnie Ray.

Sherry’s way to truly express the emotional meaning of lyrics (even for a non English audience) made all audiences truly love her.

The obvious joy and craft of Sherry and her fellow musicians made this recording of the Nerly Big Band a great experience for all.

Jim Linahon    On more than 300 recordings in various media genres of trumpeter and composer Jim Linahon was previously involved. Many of these projects experienced international success, including the Grammy Awards, the most important award in the music scene.

But not enough, Jim Linahon worked with jazz greats such as Sammy Davis Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald and played first trumpet in the orchestra of Frank Sinatra.

During their time together with the Nerly Big Band he excelled not only with virtuoso trumpet solos, but also took on to become the producer of this studio CD. His passion and detail oriented leadership was a guarantee for this outstanding recording documenting a great team effort of the Nerly Big Band, the theater of Erfurt and Microtech Gefell.

Markus Burger    In developing his signature sound over the years, Markus drew his influences from a wide range of musical styles including J.S. Bach, Claude Debussy, Keith Jarrett, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Sting.Markus Burger’s European heritage allows him to combine thirty years of experience in a variety of musical genres to create a musical mélange unique in the piano world.

His contributions to the sound of the Nerly Big Band show that he is truly connected to his colleagues from Erfurt.

His award-winning project Spiritual Standards has allowed him to play hundreds of concerts to worldwide audiences representing German culture for the German Foreign Service.

Die NERLY BIGBAND   Founded in December 2008 the Nerly BIGBAND started their concert series in Erfurt’s Kulturcafé Nerly (which since has become the musical institution in town). Every two weeks brings these talented musicians (who have their roots in different genres) together to delight their loyal audience in the always-filled Café Nerly. The musicality and experience of each member as well as established guest soloists on hand to make the experience for every new big band concert night.

2011, the Nerly BIGBAND first live CD.

The proximity of the audience to create an ensemble that gives itself in its own way the tradition of greats like Count Basie, Bob Mintzer and Sammy Nestico is hard to ignore.

Already in 2011 this first joint appearances of the Nerly Big Band with Sherry Williams, Jim Linahon and Markus Burger are immortalized in the first live CD.

The Nerly Big Band’s 2nd release Unforgettable reminds all of us that they are conquered their place among Germany’s top Big Bands.
